The private seminars for Massage Therapists are great way for a group of therapists from a local society or from a massage therapy clinic with multiple practitioners to satisfy their CEU requirements. There are still a limited number of LMT CEU seminar dates available for 2006.

Clinical Neurology and Orthopedics for the Massage Therapist

This is a seminar that teaches the massage therapist how to improve their effectiveness in assessing a patient's neurological and orthopedic status. It reviews common musculoskeletal conditions and their protocols for treatment. You will learn how to write and keep good patient notes in order to be more easily reimbursed by insurance companies, and how to properly refer to other medical specialists in your community. This is a one day course.

"Muscles, Rehabilitation and Exercise"

This is a seminar that teaches the massage therapist how to correctly assess their patient's flexibility, muscle strength and aerobic conditioning status. It reviews rehabilitation exercises and teaches the massage therapist how to correctly progress a patient through the different phases of rehabilitation. Dr. Koshes will teach you how to develop your own home or office rehabilitation program using surgical elastic tubing. Covered also in this class will be fluid replacement guidelines and common exercise protocols. This is a two day course.

"Modality Certification for the Massage Therapist"

This is a seminar that teaches the message therapist proper application of therapy modalities including cryotheraphy, hydrocollation, paraffin wax, ultrasound and electrical muscle stimulation. Each therapy is carefully dissected, looking at its physiological effects, indications/contraindications, application and treatment parameters. The seminar contains laboratory instruction so that the student has time to develop the clinical skills necessary to apply the modalities. An opportunity if offered to achieve a certification status in the use of the modalities for those massage therapists who pass a written and laboratory practical examination with a grade of 80% or better. This is a two day course.
