State Licensed Massage Therapists "How Do You Instruct Your Clients In Some Of The Most Common Prescribed Exercise Protocols?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Massage Therapists, knowing how to instruct your clients in the most common exercise protocols is important. This is extremely useful for those therapists currently employed in a physician’s office or considering employment in a rehabilitation facility where exercise therapies are used as part of their prescribed health care program. In Dr. Koshes’ online Massage Therapy class, “Muscles, Rehabilitation And Exercise,” he reviews commonly prescribed exercise protocols including; Buerger-Allen’s, William’s, McKenzie’s, Jacobsen’s, Kegel’s and Codman’s.

In his LMT online continuing education course he describes each exercise program reviewing the indications, contraindications, exercise movements, sets and repetition ranges. For example; William’s exercises is a program that was developed by Dr. Paul William’s for the treatment of lower back pain. It is contraindicated in cases where the patient’s pain is made worse by the exercise movements. Initial exercises consist of the following movements; sit-up, pelvic tilt, knee to chest, hip flexor stretch and flat footed squat. The exercises are performed 2-3 times daily during the acute stages of an injury at 5 repetitions each.

For more information concerning the how to instruct your clients in some of the most commonly prescribed exercise protocols contact Dr. Koshes on his website, www.koshes.com
